Transparency in government is essential to building trust with the community. Ultimately, government is of the people, by the people, and for the people. So, the people who elect us to serve should be privy to the information upon which decisions are made and the deliberations of the decision makers. Without transparency, accountability for elected officials falls short of where it needs to be, and government runs amuck. The more in tune citizens are to what’s happening in government, the better for all. This only happens if government is transparent.
